Great day. Lots of strong thermal lift and, for once, not horribly windy. When Terry arrived at the LZ there were two balds and a hawk beaming out right above us. Got in the air about 2:30 and climbed out to nearly 7k msl. I had 850 fpm on the 20 second averager. Brief discussion as to whose turn it was to drive (very brief -- clearly mine) before Terry took one over the back. He caught one out in the main valley and got to 7260 a personal best and drove over to Dickey Ridge. He had 5k and climbing there but was drifting way back and decided there were too many trees downwind so stayed put. Afterwards I told him that he had it made and shoulda gone. Reminded him of the time Marc Fink blew thru there with 1000 over. He was duly impressed and promised to throw caution to the winds next time.
