I was there yesterday with Tom McG and Mark C.
WE started off at Bill's where the wind was pretty much straight in but light. Vote was to go to Fischer's, where I eventually left Tom and Mark after a couple of hours in the frigid snow watching it blow mostly 90 cross. I don't know if anyone actually ever flew.
While checking out the new main (Anna's) Mark discovered a new line had been strung between the poles, he described the clearance to ground not much over 6 feet. Sounds like a good trainer for speed gliding.

Hello All,
An unofficial paragliding first happened yesterday when Gerry Donohoe and Wolfgang Stehr became the first paraglider pilots to fly off Jack’s Mountain. Several local hang glider pilots also flew with good ridge and thermal soaring. Winds were a near perfect 10-15 mph with a slight left crosswind. LZ winds were east at 5-8 mph. Gerry was off first, aided by technical assistance from Wolfgang. The plan was to inflate my wing in the small scenic overlook and step over the infamous guardrail. Plans changed when I became airborne in the smooth lift after inflation and Wolfgang ably pushed me over the guardrail and out onto the ridge. Wolfgang had the same experience when he launched after recovering me from the LZ. We both had 20-30 minute flights gaining 300-400 feet over launch. When Wolfgang left the ridge towards sunset he encountered little to no sink on his trip to the LZ, a winter wonder wind?
