Showed up at launch around 2:15PM to find Joe, Karen and Lenko with their gliders on top of their cars...not a good sign. Gusty on launch up to 30 MPH but cycling down. We decided to setup. I launched 1st at 4:00PM into STFI 10-15MPH, followed by Karen, Joe and later TR and Jessie. Joe and I boated around at only 600' over but we were fat, dumb, and happy. At 4:45PM, I found a thermal over launch that went up to 2011' over!!! Very surprising this late in the day. Around 5:30 it went magic. Joe, Jess and TR top landed. Karen landed in the main and I landed in the valley. Went to Jo-Jos' afterwards and became even more fat, dumb and happy.

I was a gamble ... this time, it paid off.
I arrived about 10am, flew Zagi to check conditions - Winds were 10-15 straight in. Set up the WW Sport, launched by 10:30, thanks to a family of nice folks who stopped to gawk. After a bit of bobbing about, I noticed the winds had increased. Within the next 10 minutes it got a bit stronger and gustier. With the bar at my waist, I was able to make headway ... decided to get to the LZ while I still had a chance.
Winds at the LZ were S about 15 when I landed. A local offered me a ride to the top : ), where wings had increased to 20-25. I flew the Zagi for while, barely penetrating, then headed fer home thru major snow flurries and light drizzle - gliders were dry when I put 'em away.
'Spark (500-100' over, 0:40 - heading out for some more Zagi soaring)
