John Middleton, his new H2 student Ed Reno and I visited Woodstock on Saturday. Winds were light and crossing from the north, but there were numerous launchable cycles. I got there early and might have been able to soar if I had hurried up. As it was, I waited until the best cycles had passed. Ed got his first and second high flights. I got two flights, an extended sled and a sled. John got an extended sled. It still beat trying to mow a wet lawn.

Congratulations Ed, welcome to the sport.

In addition to Mike C., Karen and I, Sheila, Ben and LE and visiting PG pilot Pete Dresher had desperado sleds at Bill's yesterday; Steve Padgett had two sleds-- all of us doing it with wet wings. Many thanks to Judy-Judy who graciously offered to drive so we might fly. Mike's truck was too loaded down with gear and bodies for all of us to fit for the trip back up to the top. So Sheila, LE, Karen and I hoofed it down the road from the LZ to shorten the distance for a return pickup form Ben and Pete. It was the highlight of the day. We encountered a virtual petting zoo with horses, ducks, rabbits, sheep, emus, guinea hens, more horses, a pen full of terrier pups and four of the cutest little baby goats (kids), plus the usual cats and dogs and chickens and cows. After seeing this menagerie and looking at the weather forecast, I've decided to build an ark......

Matthew (Cavanaugh's not missing much, eh? of Karen and Matthew)
