Doug and I had chores to do before we could go flying. Such discipline. Ed Reno called us from the LZ to ask if we knew the USHGA radio frequencies. He reported it was blowing straight in but that it might be strong - no one had launched yet. We decided to head up anyway.

You neglected the ever-lov'n John Middleton. Missed no doubt because he was always hiding out in the top of the stack!

A fair number of pilots drove through the rain to get to a windy but dry and flyable towfarm. I logged 0+30 airtime; 1+30 'watching Geoff fly while everybody else gets extendos' time. Hangers on included Judy, Mike C., Steve T., Janet and I. Air was fairly gnarly, at times. The Fusion must be an easy glider to tow, 'cause I'm not _that_ good.
Surprisingly good day, given the forecast. Ya never know.

Jim and I went to Bill's Hill on Sunday. He wanted to fly
the HPAT 145 so I took along the Eiger (breaks down to about seven
feet). Winds were about ESE at 5 - 8 MPH under overcast skies
(no rain).
Jim got an extended sled and liked the way the HPAT turned,
glided and landed.
I just got a sled on the Eiger. It's like a large Falcon;
flies slow and requires lots of input/time to turn and has a steep
glide ratio (if there's not much lift you head straight for the
LZ; even at Bill's). Lots of fun to fly and very easy to land.
Jim is moving to Ft. Carson, Colorado on Wednesday. I
am taking a week off to go with him to drive one of his cars.
We will take the HPAT and meet Pete Farbish (former member of
CHGA) at William's Peak for a 4th July fly in there.
