Hangola March 5 & 8, 1999

Terry, Steve Kinsley and I flew. I launched first and maintained for two to three passes then ended up in the lz seven minutes later. Terry launched and sank out slowly to join me. Steve launched right after Terry landed and the moderately thick cirrus all but disappeared as Steve got almost a thousand over and came down close to an hour later because he was cold.

Another good day at Daniel's, at least for the Saints among us.

Light NNW, sunny and probably close to 40. Judy M went first, got up a little and then sank out. Valiant effort over the LZ where she got back up to launch level or so for a few minutes. Brian and I got up over the rock pile. Once up it was pretty easy to stay there but we couldn't get very high -- 1000 to 1100 over. A lot of very strong but disorganized lift. Nice day all in all and a lot better than sitting here watching it snow and arguing with my cat

Judy, Steve and myself all flew yesterday at the rock. Light conditions given the days forecast.

Judy launched first around 2. It turned out to be just a tad too early. She did an impressive job over the lz of getting back up briefly to launch level, but alas gravity had its way with her.

Steve and I both launched around 2:30. Both got up in semi-gnarly stuff coming of the rocks and flew for over hour. Although the thermals were ok and abundant, nothing was going above the inversion at 1100 over. Still a pleasant day.
