I thought it might turn NE today so I went yesterday. Blue sky and 50 degrees. North winds at 10 or so. A lot of lift but also a lot of sink. Almost sank out when I first launched and tried running north for the spine. Ran into unrelenting massive down. Got flushed out front but found something in the bowl and got up. Lift to 3k over. Probably could have gone higher but it was cold. Flew wingtip to wingtip with a bald eagle. Pretty cool. Landed over the back in Fort Valley and walked back up--we didn't leave a car in the LZ.. Flew with Terry Spencer. I think we both got somewhere in the neighborhood of 1:30 Steve Kinsley
