From the president......

.........The Mountaineer fly in was a huge success, the weather cooperated for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday was blown out, most pilots left for home or other sites. Out of the four area fly in's in a row, our's had to have been the most fun. Many pilots flew over the rocks, some for the first time. Others went on short XC flights. As usual the pot luck dinner had a wide assortment of food. Unfortunately Kelly Billings had a hard landing in the North Mountain LZ and broke her upper arm. But she and Kevin are getting married soon, the diamond on her ring finger should help ease the pain. Group site E had a record number of tents this year although some of them were just used for storage. It was also noted how many vehicles had ladders for glider racks. The ladder racks are easy to construct but are a bit selfish as they can usually only carry one glider. JR has been organizing the fly in for as long as I can remember and would like someone else to take over the job. The North Mtn. ramp is in need of repair, the right side of it has a large hole. Maybe we could do this next Memorial Day.
