MinutesThe meeting was called to order around 1030 am by Prez Mike Chevalier.
Treasurer's report. Christy Huddle stated that the club took in more than it paid out, but that she must not have it right since it was quite a bit more in the black. She'll have a more accurate assessment after all the Xmas and site stuff has been taken care of. All in attendance were nailed for dues, etc. at the meeting.
Old business None.
New business
North Mountain ramp Jim Rowan said the ramp needs work. Marvin estimated supplies would cost around $250. After some discussion, Marvin said it would work best for him (since we will be relying on his expertise in the matter) if he gets the supplies needed and we figure on doing the work in early January. He will decide on the date and we will plan to be there to help out.
Keys for gates The Fairgrounds administration will be putting a new lock on the gate and we should have keys available shortly. Same policy on keys applies: $50 if you don't help out at the site cleanups or are not on the board.
Newsletter of the Year Award Mike Chevalier was awarded the Newsletter of the Year Award by the USHGA Board of Directors.
Xmas gifts The same property owners will be receiving Xmas gifts this year. Larry, Will and JR will deliver the gifts.
Webpage Mike Chevalier will ask Judy McCarty if she is interested in doing a one page web page for the club. Information will be on the fly-ins, membership info, etc.
Events There will be the usual Fly-Ins at North Mountain on Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. New format will be everyone brings what they want to eat and what they need to eat it with. If they want to organize anything, they can, but no one is officially in charge of making sure people organize. Before the fly-ins the newsletters will have a list of what people should think about bringing, e.g., food, eating utensils, wood for the fire, chair, etc. (See Blip for update.)
Parachute packing clinic Larry Huffman would prefer not to have the clinic in the spring since that interfers with the regional competition. He suggested having it in the fall. Jim Rowan will check to see if Larry can commit to doing the clinic and, if so, when.
New officers The members voted in the following officers for 1998
Mike Chevalier, President;
VP,
John McAllister;
Sec/Treas. Christy Huddle;
and Jim Rowan and LE Herrick for Board of Directors.
