A word from the president.....

We've made a change at the December meeting, for the next fly in it's a bring your own food plan. JR has been organizing the fly in for way too long and it's time for a change. I'll put a list of stuff you should bring in the next newsletter. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for flying that day, most members didn't even bring gliders. Later it was pizza at Pizza Hut.

It's time to renew your membership if you haven't already . Send your money to Christy. I received one here and forwarded it to her. And enter the regionals. More than one pilot I know has been unable to count a good flight because of late registration.

Some of us took a trip to Wallaby Ranch in Florida, not one of the best trips I've been on. Unfortunately I witnessed the END OF SOMEBODY'S LIFE because of a bolt that wasn't correctly installed. Flying will never be the same. The problem was hidden by wheel mount extensions, accessories that were not being used. There were no wheels on them, not that they would have helped. If you have any unused junk on your glider you should take it off.

I just got a new glider, a Stealth 2, 151 with carbon cross tubes thus guaranteeing that the next few weekends will be raining, snowing, too cold, blown out or whatever. Just the way it works out every time I get a new toy. Good thing I did it in January because I wouldn't want to ruin the spring. Mike
